Get a USG Pelvic (pelvic ultrasound) at VRX Diagno Lounge, Goregaon West — evaluates the uterus, ovaries, urinary bladder, and prostate (in men). Used for fibroids, ovarian cysts, abnormal bleeding, fertility workup, and bladder symptoms. Full bladder required. Same-day report.
Pelvic Ultrasound (USG Pelvic) evaluates the structures in the pelvis — uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, urinary bladder, and prostate. It is the first-line investigation for fibroids, ovarian cysts, abnormal uterine bleeding, fertility evaluation, urinary symptoms, and prostate enlargement. Performed transabdominally with a full bladder; transvaginal/transrectal alternatives offer better resolution when needed (separate procedure).
Common — number, size, location all reported
Functional, complex, or pathological cysts; PCOS-pattern ovaries
Important in abnormal bleeding, fertility, postmenopausal evaluation
Solid or cystic — guides further workup
Approximate size and post-void residual urine in men
Wall thickness, stones, masses, retention
Heavy, intermenstrual, or postmenopausal bleeding
Especially cyclical or unilateral
Heavy menstrual flow, anaemia, pressure symptoms
Antral follicle count, uterine cavity, tubal patency adjuncts
Polycystic ovary morphology
To assess endometrial thickness urgently
BPH, retention, prostate workup
Felt on examination or imaging
| Parameter | What It Measures | Reference Range |
|---|---|---|
| Uterus | Size, shape, fibroids, endometrium | Lab-reported normals |
| Ovaries | Size, follicles, cysts | < 10 ml volume each |
| Endometrial Thickness | Cycle phase / postmenopausal | Cycle-dependent |
| Bladder | Wall, content, residual urine | Normal wall / minimal residual |
| Prostate (in men) | Size, contour | < 30 cc (young adults) |
| Adnexa & Pelvic Cavity | Free fluid, masses | No abnormality |
Normal-size uterus and ovaries, normal endometrium, normal bladder/prostate — reassuring. Continue routine yearly screening if you have risk factors.
Findings such as fibroids, cysts, polyps, thickened endometrium, prostate enlargement, or pelvic masses need clinical correlation and may warrant transvaginal/transrectal scan, MRI, or biopsy. Your physician will correlate with symptoms and history.
Every report is reviewed by an experienced pathologist with clear interpretation and clinical comment.
