Get a Venous Doppler scan of both limbs at VRX Diagno Lounge, Goregaon West — non-invasive imaging that detects deep vein thrombosis (DVT), varicose veins, venous reflux, and post-thrombotic disease. Same-day radiologist-reviewed report.
Venous Doppler uses ultrasound to evaluate blood flow through the deep and superficial veins of both legs. It is the gold-standard non-invasive test for deep vein thrombosis (DVT) — clots in the leg veins — and for assessing varicose-vein anatomy and venous reflux. Particularly important in postoperative patients, after long-haul travel, in pregnancy, and unexplained limb swelling.
Non-compressible vein with thrombus — gold-standard non-invasive diagnosis
Maps superficial venous reflux for surgical/endovenous planning
Saphenous vein incompetence — duration of reverse flow measured
Old DVT residuum, valve damage
Tender, palpable cord-like vein with clot
Before bypass surgery (saphenous harvest) or AV fistula
Classic DVT presentation — urgent assessment
Major surgery, hip/knee replacement, immobilisation
Especially with risk factors — DVT prophylaxis assessment
Higher DVT risk; lower-extremity swelling needs evaluation
Maps anatomy before treatment (laser, foam, surgery)
Chronic venous insufficiency or post-thrombotic syndrome
Combined with thrombophilia testing
Before AV fistula or bypass surgery
| Parameter | What It Measures | Reference Range |
|---|---|---|
| Compressibility | Vein collapses under probe pressure | Fully compressible (normal) |
| DVT | Non-compressible vein with thrombus | Negative (normal) |
| Augmentation | Flow with calf compression | Augmented (normal) |
| Reflux | Reverse flow on Valsalva | < 0.5–1 sec (normal) |
| Saphenous Veins | Diameter, reflux mapping | GSV diameter assessed |
| Perforator Veins | Communications with deep system | Mapped if incompetent |
Compressible deep veins, normal flow patterns, and no reflux are reassuring. Continue routine yearly screening if you have risk factors.
DVT requires anticoagulation — start treatment promptly. Significant reflux in saphenous veins guides treatment plan for varicose veins. Your physician will correlate with symptoms and history.
Every report is reviewed by an experienced pathologist with clear interpretation and clinical comment.
